Electric vehicle parking is free only within Paris city limits and for up to 6 hours if you use the blue parking disc.

To take advantage of free parking, pick up the blue disc from the armrest compartment. Indicate your arrival time and place it behind the windshield so it is visible to parking enforcement officers. Note that parking is free for all users between 8 PM and 9 AM. Therefore, if you park in Paris between 8 PM and 9 AM, indicate 9 AM as your arrival time.

Be careful: free parking does not apply in neighboring cities and suburbs (Neuilly-sur-Seine, Levallois-Perret, Montrouge, Boulogne-Billancourt, etc.). Outside Paris city limits, parking must be paid for, or you risk penalties ranging from a class 4 fine to vehicle impoundment.
