In case of parking violations, the driver faces a fixed fine if checked:

  • Obstructive parking (€35): In a spot reserved for taxis, buses, etc., in a place that blocks access to or exit from another vehicle, on a bridge, in an underpass, in a tunnel, on an emergency lane except in absolute necessity, in front of the drivable entrance of a building, in front of an electric vehicle charging station, in a delivery spot outside of authorized hours.

  • Severe obstructive parking (€135): In a spot for disabled persons, on a pedestrian crossing, within 5 meters upstream of a pedestrian crossing in the direction of traffic, outside designated spots, on a bike lane, on a greenway except for authorized vehicles, on a sidewalk, on a roadway or lane reserved for specific categories of vehicles (bus, taxi, ambulance, carpooling) except in cases of absolute necessity.

  • Dangerous parking (€135, 3 points on the driver’s license, and a possible license suspension of up to 3 years): Near an intersection, bends, hilltops, or level crossings, where visibility is insufficient.

  • Parking on a Belib’ spot (€135): applies in case of unjustified parking on a Belib’ charging spot. However, if you are actively charging your vehicle at this station, parking is allowed for the duration of the charging session. For more information, have a look at our article on Belib spots.

In the event of unauthorized parking, in addition to the fine, the vehicle may be impounded by the towing service. In this case, fees will apply: towing fees plus a 15€ retrieval fee. Furthermore, any damage to the vehicle during the towing process may result in additional charges at your expense.
